The September update landed September 1. It opens Season 54, "Royal Academy", which runs September 3 to October 1, and it is a packed one: Starr Road is gone, replaced by Brawler Blast; two new Mythic brawlers arrive, Cosmo in September and Vince in October; Duolingo crosses over with a new boss mode; six brawlers get full Buffie sets; and a large skin wave lands, including 5 Supercell MAKE skins. Here is everything announced, with links to the deeper breakdowns.
Brawler Blast replaces Starr Road
Starr Road is gone. Brawler Blast unlocks a random brawler from a rarity pool, and in return an unlock with Credits always grants bonus progression: at minimum 1 Power Level, and up to Power 11 with a Hypercharge. Gem Fragments from the eliminated options convert into Power Levels, Gadgets, Star Powers, Gears, Hypercharges and Buffies, and sometimes the Blast lets you pick 1 brawler from 2 to 4 options. Credit costs per rarity are unchanged. New brawlers still arrive through their release events with Brawler Boxes and cannot be prioritized in Blast.
How the new system works step by step, its rewards and limits, and the 1,500 Credits decision in full: Brawler Blast explained.
Cosmo: September’s new Mythic
Cosmo is a robot scientist, the host of the Starr Park Observatory, and the start of the new Planetarium Trio. He releases in September through the New Brawler Event as early access, and opening 14 Cosmo Boxes guarantees the unlock, the standard Mythic threshold covered in our New Brawler Event guide. A community-compiled drop table for the Cosmo Box is already circulating; we treat those chances as community-compiled until we verify them in-game.
His release window and unlock path in detail: Cosmo: release date and how to get him. His stats, best build and counters fill in from live battle data on Cosmo’s brawler page the moment he is out.
Vince: October’s new Mythic
Vince joins the Creepsville Trio in October. He works at the Creepy Café beside Juju’s Oddities Shop and is obsessed with caterpillars and moths. His star powers and gadgets are already in the official game data; his exact release date, his attack and Super, and every number are still to be confirmed.
We will cover him the same way: Vince: release date and how to get him, with his numbers landing on Vince’s brawler page at release.
The Duolingo collab and its boss mode
Duolingo crosses over with a new boss mode starring Duo, playable with 3, 5 or 20 players, in two phases. First comes the lesson: every player is asked a question, a correct answer grants a buff for the battle, and a wrong answer deals damage; in the 20-player mode a wrong answer eliminates you outright. Then the fight: Duo attacks with a frontal slap, a 360 slam, and thrown word attacks. These are the announced pre-release details, so treat them as subject to change at launch.

A community event built around the Duolingo mode starts September 19, and Duolingo is running an event in its own app where players can earn Chaos Drops and Spike for free.

Six brawlers get complete Buffie sets:

How Buffies work, and whether a set is worth your coins, is covered in our Buffies explainer, the same place every Buffies wave lands.
New skins
The wave is led by the 5 Supercell MAKE skins: Jormungandr Doug, Gravestone Griff, Retro Kit, Twilight Queen Lily and Bone Collector Alli. The Brawl Pass line carries the Royal Academy theme: Drum Major Najia, Academy Mandy, Trash Goblin Darryl and Academy Ollie, plus a Hank set (Head Coach, Trainer, Team Captain) and a Nani set (Head Teacher, Principal, Queen).

- Xenomech Max
- Moonlight Lola and Moonlight Eve
- True Silver and True Gold for Wendy and Nori
Every one of these is already in the skins catalog, with rarity and cost filled in as each is confirmed.
Ultra Legendary becomes Ultra
The Ultra Legendary rarity is renamed to Ultra. No other change to the rarity was announced. Our brawler and skin pages use the new name, and searches for the old one still match.

Release date
The update landed September 1. Season 54, "Royal Academy", runs September 3 to October 1. From day one we will track both new brawlers’ win rates in our own battle data, the same numbers behind our tier list, so the "is Cosmo good" question gets a measured answer instead of a guess.
