The Brawl Stars New Brawler Event is how every new brawler has shipped since September 2025, and the headline fact is simple: open enough Brawler Boxes and the new brawler unlocks for free, guaranteed. No random pull, no rare drop to hope for. Play the event with a free Ticket, win two matches to earn one Brawler Box, and once you have opened 14 boxes, the number for a Mythic brawler like Wendy, the brawler is yours. Supercell has run this system five times now: Glowy, Sirius, Najia, Damian, and Wendy. Here is exactly how it works, what a Brawler Box contains, and whether the grind is worth it.
How the New Brawler Event works
The event runs on the same ticket structure as the old Mega Pig challenges. Supercell hands out free Tickets for the length of the event, typically 12 on the first day and about 2 more each day after. Tickets do not stack, so an unused one is gone once the next day’s batch lands. Spend a Ticket to queue into a match with the new brawler, playable at full Power with every gadget, star power and gear unlocked even though you do not own them yet. Win two matches and you earn one Brawler Box.
- A Ticket lets you queue into one match with the new brawler.
- Win twice (the wins do not need to be back to back) and you earn one Brawler Box.
- Keep repeating the cycle for as long as the event hands out Tickets.
- Open the required number of boxes and the brawler unlocks automatically, no purchase needed.
That required number is where people get confused, because it is not the same for every brawler. It scales with rarity: 12 boxes for an Epic, 14 for a Mythic, 20 for a Legendary or Ultra Legendary. Wendy and Damian are both Mythic, so both sit at 14. Sirius launched as the 100th brawler and an Ultra Legendary, so his event needed 20.

What is in a Brawler Box
Every release gets its own named box with its own drop table: the Glowy Box, the Sirius Box, the Najia Box, the Damian Box, and now the Wendy Box. Each box hands out 8 drops, drawn from a shared pool of reward types: Coins, Power Points, Credits, XP Doublers, Gems, Bling, and event-exclusive cosmetics for the new brawler, pins, sprays, profile icons and discounted event skins among them.

The new brawler themselves can also appear as one of the 8 drops, at a small chance, which is how some players unlock a brawler in fewer than 14 boxes. That chance is not the guarantee though. The guarantee is the box count. Whether or not you ever pull the brawler directly, opening 14 boxes (or 12, or 20, depending on rarity) unlocks them anyway. Treat an early pull as a bonus, not the plan.

The current event: the Wendy Box
Right now the New Brawler Event is running for
Wendy, the new Mythic support, as part of the Windstock season through September 3, 2026. The Wendy Box follows the same structure as every box before it, and the 14-box threshold applies to her the same as it did to Damian and Najia. For the full breakdown of Wendy’s specific timeline, her Starr Road fallback and the post-event Credit-redirect window, see our Wendy unlock guide. For her kit, current win rate and best build, check Wendy's brawler page.
Every New Brawler Event so far
The system launched in September 2025 and has now run five times. Here is every release compared side by side, our own compiled timeline of dates and box thresholds.
| Brawler | Rarity | Event window | Boxes to unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mythic | Jan 23 to Feb 2, 2026 | 14 | |
| Ultra Legendary (100th brawler) | Started Feb 26, 2026 | 20 | |
| Mythic | Mar 20 to Mar 30, 2026 | 14 | |
| Mythic | Apr 24 to May 5, 2026 | 14 | |
| Mythic | Aug 6, 2026, live now through Sep 3 | 14 |
Glowy was revealed as "Glowbert" during his own release event, and Supercell renamed him to Glowy only after it ended, so search around his event still turns up the old name.
Sirius is the outlier in the table: as the 100th brawler and an Ultra Legendary, his event needed 20 boxes instead of 14, the highest bar the system has asked for yet. Miss the window entirely and the brawler does not disappear.
Damian, for example, moved onto the Starr Road for 1,900 Credits once his event ended on May 5, the standard fallback every brawler in this system gets.
Should you grind the New Brawler Event
For a Mythic brawler, 14 boxes at two wins per box is 28 wins. Spread across an event that hands out roughly 30 Tickets, that is realistic without spending a single Gem, as long as you play most days the event is live. For a Legendary or Ultra Legendary threshold of 20 boxes, the math gets tighter, 40 wins against a similar Ticket allotment, so a few Gem-bought boxes to top up is common at that rarity.
The reason to grind it now rather than wait: the free path only exists during the event window. Skip it and the brawler still reaches you, but only through the Starr Road’s Credits system, the same cost as any other brawler already in the game: 1,900 Credits for a Mythic, the price
Damian landed at once his own event ended. Check the current brawler tier list before you commit serious grinding time, since not every new release lands as a top pick worth prioritizing over Credits you already have saved elsewhere.
